Balloons and stamp-collecting
As usual, the Pays-d’Enhaut’s philately club will be playing an active part in the International Balloon Festival. Among other collections, there will be an exhibition of all the mail transported by balloon during the previous Château-d’OEx Festivals, as well as an additional brand new collection.
Like every other year, during the week a balloon will transport in its basket a batch of recorded delivery envelopes with the Pro Juventute insignia, a special edition for the International Balloon Festival.
After landing, the courier on board, responsible for the letters, will hand over the precious package to the nearest Swiss post office to be postmarked. The envelopes from this flight, as well as those from previous years and stamps related to ballooning will be on sale in the exhibition hall at the Philately Club table or at the Espace Ballon reception desk.
The exhibition will be held in Château-d’OEx’s salle du Conseil Communal, on the 3rd floor of the town hall (Hôtel de Ville), which can be reached by lift or stairs. This exhibition will be open non-stop from 10am to 4.30 pm throughout the event. Entry free.
